My 10 year old can now reach the compost bin.
He was delighted to hear (and near to hysteria from laughing) that its good for the compost.

I just hope he doesn't try to aim out of his bedroom window  ::)

::)  Male wee is good at deterring foxes and cats because of the hormones in it.  What makes wee a compost activator is the nitrogen component, which is not gender-dependent...

Finally I got the men of the house to humour me on this, my 12 year old said to his sister

"if you dare tell people at school" she said she won't

Trying it on the compost at home first, it won't smell will it  ???

Doesn't seem to - I think the compost neutralises the smell.  (I mean, you still get the compost-y smells, but no 'toilet' smells!)  :)

Makes good liquid plant feed too - dilute 1:5 or 1:10 for delicate plants.

My beans and squashes get a good dose while I'm down there and it doesn't change the flavour.

Ok I now have visions of men all aound the country hovering around their compost bins with relieved looks on their faces.

Just had a thought ..... we renewed our bathroom a few weeks ago and I wondered why hubby kept the toilet in the garden ....... he joked that it was the new outside toilet ........ wonder if he was joking now   ??? ???

I am a female and I am afraid that mine goes into the compost bin too.  Best thing I ever did was getting a bucket to use in the shed - means I don't have to keep driving home when I need to go.

I do remember reading on here somewhere something along the lines of female wee having oestrogen in it and when this then gets back into the water supply via the earth to the rivers there is some danger to something, although I can't remember what.  I'm sorry to say that I made the decision that this danger is smaller than the pain it causes me not to go!  I could pretend that it is because I don't want to increase carbon emmissions through doing lots of car journeys, but that isn't true.  I just want to be able to stay at the allotment for longer.  Sorry!
