Thin duck
« on: May 29, 2010, 21:10 »
Can I give my little Khaki Campbell some chick crumb to build her up. She is looking very ragged this year after unwanted attention from Mr darcy the aylesbury.

Or any other suggestions what I can give her to put some weight on. Apart from looking very tatty and being thin she is fine she still lays eggs every day and they have all been wormed recently. Any ideas welcome.

Cat kibbles. Mine break into the house for them much to the cat's disgust. Especially as the also drink his water! They are high in protein and oil and are recommended by the "duck bible" for conditioning ducks coming up to show. Mine get some if they are under the weather never more than 50% of their total food and probably best to avoid the poultry varieties.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
