Ok what the hell am i doing wrong then, i've managed to kill 6 raspberries .. bought them and they where fine but every single one of them died :(

I find that slugs and snails are partial to the very young new shoots appearing from below the soil, but if the shoots on the canes (if any) aren't growing either then I suspect they may have had it.

I have had failures of transplanted raspberries in the past, but it seems a distant memory now!  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

.........Funny you should say that! I wanted to grow something other than spearmint, so plucked a few apple mint roots from a friend's garden.

"Are you sure that's enough?" said she.

"Oh yes, plenty; can't go wrong with mint, can you?" said I.

Not quite sure it's completely dead, but I'm planning an unannounced night visit to my friend's garden as I wouldn't want to have to confess!  :nowink:

(It actually looks as if it was caught by the frost (apple mint leaves do look fairly "soft"); does anyone think that is possible?)

Both raspberries and mint like it damp, so I'm guessing you have well drained sandy soil?
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".
