:)I have acquired a nice roll of very fine enviro-mesh netting about 2M wide.
How best to support/join/fix to ground/how to fix the semi-circular ends of say a small tunnel made from water pipe etc.-or a tent shape made with straight pipe!
I`m sure some of you have been through the learning curve so will you you share your knowledge/ give us all  a`workshop` please before I make a pigs ear of some expensive material--can you sew it with nylon thread for example on a domestic sewing machine to make tent ends etc??

All experiences would be welcome - thanks ::)

I love the stuff and buy a metre or so when I'm flush. I just drape it over my seedlings or plants, leaving room for expansion. I weigh mine down with bricks or lengths of timber, metal rods, clear plastic bottles filled with water - anything that will keep it from blowing away as it's expensive and you don't want it ripped.  I don't peg it down as I like to be able to get it off easily to weed.  If you seal it all the way round the cabbage whites can't get in, or flea beetle and aphids as it's so fine, so is v good for brassicas, turnips, rocket etc   I always put it on my carrots.

You can pin it to frames etc but I'm useless as structures so I just drape  :D

I use 3 bamboo canes and 2 small pieces hose pipe to make a 'goal post' . once i have as many as i need of these drape the mesh over which gets wieghed down with empty milk cartoons filled with soil.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

:)Thanks for that-the goalpost idea is good as it makes the ends easier to deal with rather than gathering round a curve/tunnel end-just a bit of large scale origami should close the ends of neatly!-cheers
