Small, woody radish
« on: June 05, 2010, 08:50 »
It's happened again. I have grown Saxa radish in a cool, shaded area of my raised planter and the plant has grown tall and leggy with a small, hard radish.

Can anyone tell me the secret of growing radish as I am keeping to the rules but never seem to get any success considering they are supposed to be easy to grow.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Hi Hubballi
Can I suggest you try a few other varieties of radish in different locations.
Also sow them very thinly so the leaves are not competing with each other for the light and the roots will have room to swell.

DD offers good advice, the main thing is water, or they wont grow to well, as mine are at the moment, they are growing like carrots trying to get down to some moisture.
