Is it ok to plant 2 climbing roses together in a huge (2' wide 2' deep)) pot? Just wondered if they preferred to be solitary.

My view is that the pot isn't large enough to support the roots of two climbing roses, which will have quite heavy demands for water and nutrients if and when the roses start to climb properly.  I'd reserve one per pot.

ditto here as well. Not only will you crowd the roots but you're also begging for blackspot having them so close.

I lurv big pots and i mean big, bigger the better for me, but the cost of the John Innes to fill them gives me the trembles

I know what you mean Spana....I have one of those big blue ones and I still haven't filled it..............It'll have to wait for now, too much going on with the veg growing

Bit narked about the second rose I planted. B&Q special 3 for £10. 2 had good growth but I wanted a white as well and they only had buds. Healthy enough though.
When I came to repot 2 had manic roots coming out of the bottom, the white had obviously been potted for sale very recently. The compost fell off and I was left with a stump with a couple of little white roots starting!!!
I've put it in the big pot anyway, with plenty of manure and fbb. I know I should've kept it in the small pot to establish a root system but I'm taking the chance......

Yeh, we all do that at times I get fed up with messing about
