Yes, it will almost certainly be the frost, there are a few more forecast so if I were you I would either earth them up or cover them up with some fleece to try and protect them a bit over the next couple of nights.

If you put you location in your profile it will help us answer your questions better as the weather is very different dependant where you are from, the north of the UK had a harder frost last night than the south, but we still got a small frost in the south.

My plot neighbour's have gone just like that but I think they'll recover - fleece or earthing up will help.
