Receding feather line
« on: May 10, 2010, 16:31 »
A couple of my girls are losing/have lost feathers from their heads at the back of the base of their combs.  Amber now has a bald head, and a couple of the others just starting.

Not sure if it's part of a normal moult?   Have had a good rumage and can't see anything resembling a louse . .  but not really sure what I'm looking for, and perhaps need another look with my ready readers on.

What do you think?   Is it a problem?

Amber is definately having a moult, but apart from that, they are all as normal.

No, just hens, though Wilma has started asserting her authority in a bit of a butch way.

They could be just moulting or maybe Wilma is being a bit too rough with the others!!!

It doesn't bother them.  For peace of mind I'll have another look with my reading glasses on and a magnifying glass, just to be sure I'm not missing something yukky.   If there is something yukky lurking, then I'll be straight back on here!
