Bluedaves Veg Patch Upate
« on: March 27, 2010, 21:26 »
Here's the patch back on october of last year when I set out on my veggie journey! I was hoping to be a lot further along the road than this but the weather has been awful since I decided to start digging!

However, today has been a very good day - got the potatoes in last week and dug over most of the rest of the plot today. Little bit still to do and a big dump run tomorrow!

and heres my little helpers taking a well deserved lunch break - they've planted potatoes and carrots in tubs today.

It's really coming along nicely. But the potatoes look a bit too lush on top, usually the sign of too much water or fertilizer. You can hold back watering them for better root crop than top growth.

I thought I'd reduced watering enough - time to stop altogether methinks! Cheers Trillium

Looking good, I'm quite envious.  I think I could do with borrowing your helpers as well to get some of the weeding done, all that bending down is no good for my back.
