Hi all i sowed to many primo II cabbages this  year and was wondering if i could plant some in containers? If so what size are we talking iv got them in 5inch pots at the min when would u plant them out?

Containers work well for cabbages. I'd plant them out when you do your other main planting. If left in pots too long, the roots girdle (circle) inside the pot and really stresses and stunts any future growth no matter how much you pull them apart. Remember that containers dry out faster so do keep them regularly watered and covered against the dratted butterflies.

A couple of years ago before we had any growing space in the ground we grew summer cabbages in larg plastic crates lined with perforated plastic. They were Greyhound.

Planted them about ten inches apart and thinned out alternate ones to eat early. The others grew to agood size and hearted up well 

Did compast the soil well in the crates too

I've grown Primo in a 12 inch square pot...one in each corner and they were fine. Just make sure the compost is not too acid.
