I have my hens on wood shavings and this is now full of poo.  I know wood shavings are hard to break down so would it be a good idea to put it in a sack and make some "tea"?

Can't bring myself to waste something if it can be useful.

I would say they would break down just fine,just take longer thats all

I don't have the room to dedicate to them so wondered if I could do something different.

with wood shaveings i used to get loads from a pet shop dampen them off and put in a bin liner tie it up and leave that in a sunny spot for a few weeks opening every few days to make sure that it stays damp then mix it little by little into the compost heap im not sure what the bagging up does but it seems to break down a lot faster
