I would like some advice on what to do with a Gooseberries and raseberry bush? I brought two today and don't know when to plant them etc? Any advice much appreciated.

Tomorrow would be good Russ. Get them in as soon as possible.

Yes, get them in as soon as possible making sure you give them a good start by adding some well rotted compost and chicken pellets (or similar) to the planting hole and keeping well watered until established.

You are much better off using Bonemeal when planting, as this encourages rootgrowth.

When do you think I will get a crop from them?? Also how do you take cuttings to re grow another plant?

Russ, you need the plants to establish before you think of cutting bits off them. Leave them for at least a 12 month.

I don't know about much raspberries, but I have some gooseberry experience  

You might be risking any chance of cropping goosberries planting now if you plant out, as it's  better to plant soft fruits while they're dormant. But if the pot is a decent size, can you leave them be till Winter? That way you might get a crop this year. But if not you could try & plant and see what happens.

I have 2 gooseberries plants - one was in a pot, one was already on the plot.

The one in a pot, I bought in Spring last year which I left as was - it fruited. This year (about 2 weeks ago) I planted it properly in the plot - I'm not sure what it's going to do yet. Looks ok so far - with luck it might reward me with fruit.

The gooseberry that was already on the plot I finally got around to digging up & replanting a fortnight ago -  isn't happy - after I moved it, the leaves all wilted & I've had to cut it back by a third. But daresay it'll survive - just not expecting any fruit from it this year.

Propo and as DavidT says, you may need to wait. For raspberry wait will it sends up runners. For gooseberry, wait till late summer, after it's fruited. Cut 6 inches from tip of fruiting branch, remove lower leaves, stick in pot of compost & leave over winter.
