Lemon Marmalade help Please :)
« on: May 01, 2010, 14:40 »
Hiya  :)

Could i ask you wonderful people for a little advice please, I have never had marmalde before so not sure what it should taste like,  but thought if i make my own then at least i know whats in it, and would be more than willing to try it, I'm strange i know
yesterday i made some Lemon marmalade ( microwave version ) it didn't work for me, i obviously did something wrong.
So today i made another batch from a recipe using the hob, followed everything to the rule, now!  with it being lemon I thought the colour would be lemon when it was finished, but it isn't, it is orangey in colour, and it is setting fine,   I tasted it and its got a zingy taste, but it's not exactly lemon as i thought it would be, now! i asked hubby cos he has had shop bought marmalade, what he thought, he said he would have it on toast, and it didnt taste burned, so my question in all this is have i done something wrong with it being orangy in colour instead of yellow like i thought it would be ? phew sorry its so long I just needed to make sure i was explaining myself properly.  :)
just another perfect day :)
