I keep two hens (amber star) and they free range all afternoon on weekdays and all day at weekends.  They are constantly foraging and they love their treats of mealworms or mixed corn given as a bribe or warming supper.  But they never appear to eat the layers pellets in their bowl, can I assume they are getting enough food?  They seem happy and give me two eggs a day so I can’t complain.  I just hate to think of them being hungry.

stop the treats to see if they will eat their layers. The layers contain all the vitamins and minerals they need. Meal worms and mixed corn is to them like chocolate is to me

Thanks Joyfull I will try that, after all: Woman can't live on chocolate alone.
