Mouldy bark chippings
« on: April 16, 2010, 23:08 »
Bit of an odd question.

I bought 5 bags of bark chippings last year to do some paths with but never got round to using them. I opened them today and they've gone mouldy. Not mushy and gooey, but covered in white fungus, almost like you see mushrooms growing in.

Would they still be safe to use or do I have to get rid of them? They're not exactly cheap.
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!

Had same issue last  year - once it's spread about it dries out and the mould disappears.  Not had any 'infections' that I've noticed.
