Hi,
There's a couple of patches in my veggie plot (about 3x3 feet) with nothing growing, think it was down to cats "disturbing" young plants, we cleared the poop at the time but its left us with space.

I know its late but is there anything we can plant there now. I've got a pumpkin plant nicely on the way in the greenhouse ready to go in but can anyone suggest anything else. We're in Northumberland but its a nice sunny (if sometimes windy) spot.

A pumpkin will need 3ft x 3ft and more to itself.

Coriander is always useful (at least in my house).  See coriander in the Glossary of Terms in the Welcome forum

salad leaves,rocket.peas,beetroot,or put a little wigwam up to grow climbing beans up and you could still pop your pumpkin in.

... you can still plant ... as Annie said anything in the salad line is still good to go.  Beans and still ok and you can even try a late sowing of carrots.

You can plant butternut squash seeds, even courgettes.  

And if you'd rather go for something that you're a bit late for, go to the local market and pick up baby plants.
