Steve went over last night to the allotment and rang me to say moles had came up twice in the spinach that the kids had planted.....on putting sticks down (advice of an experienced ratter) there were alot of tunnels too... 

He put some food next to the holes and...of course it went.

Has anyone else had problems with this?!?!?!

THe end of our allotment backs onto a massive farmers field and of course we have a compost bin, which we put all out leftovers into..

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT..THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Moles eat worms and they do that underground so the food will not have been taken by them.

The food could have been taken by anything, birds or rats probably.

I suggest that you ask your ratter freind to check it out for you. If you have rats the Council should send someone to deal with them for free.

When you say you put leftovers on the compost , any cooked food leftovers will attract rats. Only raw veg trimmings etc from the kitchen for the compost, cooked food leftovers can be put in a wormery ,I think as long as it is rat proof.

Will have to get a worm thing set up as I have been putting leftovers in too..

Its the thought of the kids being there and rats weeing over everything..

Never heard of those mole things..we were advised to smoke them out!
