  I have inherited some large old galv. buckets that have holed in the bases-can I grow container veg/toms. in them or is the galvo. a problem???-they look smart in a row shabby chic style and a shame to trash them-with holes in the bases they just make big flower pots!!-or do they? :blink:

I think the problem might be that they would overheat in hot weather and 'burn' the roots. Someone else more experienced might be able to confirm/suggest a remedy, but that's my understanding

iv'e seen them advertised in places so i think you will be ok,the reflective properties of the galvanising should stop them over heating.
