Hi all,

I noticed tonight that one of my banties had one of her eyes closed - so after much a-do, I finally caught her to have a look. I gave it a wipe with a little saline, and noticed she
had a little blood under her beak - so I wonder if she has been pecked...either causing
the injury, or because she was injured.

Any advice - other than the vets?

By the way, my vet will be sick of me. I took another bird up with gapeworm, and have suspected 2 more, so got some panomec for them too. He didn't charge me for either the consultation and treatment, and my subsequent trip for more panomec. Not a bad bloke eh!

she could have either been fighting or caught herself on something. Keep her clean as you have been doing and possibly apply some germolene to the injury under her beak. If she gets any worse then take her to the vets

Thanks Joyfull. I couldn't think of much else to do, other than the saline.

I'll keep an eye on her (no pun intended), she seems to be eating ok and quite bright
otherwise.
