Planting Shop bought potatoes
« on: April 03, 2010, 10:39 »
This has probably been asked before but I have a red rooster potato that has sprouted from the supermarket. If I plant it (not sure when) will it yield a crop ?  :)

short answer yes , but there is no guaranty that it is diseas free , my father inlaw does it every year and always gets a crop .    if you go to morrissons you can get 5 diseas free spuds for a quid so thats what i would do just to be safe ,   you could always stick it in a pot and find out what happens
when im with my 9yr old she's the sensible one
