is there a way just by looking to see if there chubby , my rir are quite friendy but i dont handle them. is there anything to look out for on them that shows is there fat. they have layers, and corn sometimes and adore peas . , and they have the odd bit of boiled  spuds rarely. nothing fatty realy. :blink:

Just give them a squeeze 

You should be handling them regularly to check them for lice and any other problems.

gees aunt sally old man doesnt get a squeze often anymore they run (when theres food poss on the way) and are happy and try and when the dogs go out there poking there beaks out of the fencing trying to get something of them am  i looking for fat bellys if i give um a squeze there big girls is the weight in the breast if there plump ill give it a go :happy:

Try after dark when they are roosting.  They won't run away then.
