« on: March 22, 2010, 17:44 »
hi! my ex batts have been with me only a couple f days but have laid a few eggs, some of which are coated in a thick white powder which looks like calcium but is easily rubbed off - what is it? could it be their previous feed causing it? lucyloux

Hi i had the same thing with 1 of my young chickens i wouldnt worry too much as the eggs were fine after about 1 week, probably just adapting to changes such as food etc. It's to do with calcium balances in the body i think.Try adding  a little cod liver oil to the food so they can regulate the calcium intake better.
