My chicken has been sat on some duck eggs for 30 and a half days.  Does this mean they are not going to hatch?  I tried candling the eggs but couldnt really see much inside.  I believe 2 were indian runners and 2 were mallard.  One has broken and was just yolk inside.

The eggs came from a farm and were layed the day I put her on them.

the eggs are dead.  I candled with a brighter light and the black spot was wobbling on the side.  they died quite early on.

Such a shame  Both for you and the broody who has sat tight for 30 days. Is there a local suppliers of day olds? When I had this happen I managed to sneak 3 chicks under my girl which she happily accepted as being her babies.

I've also done the same thing and she took to them really well even though she is a duck and they are not known for their mothering abilities and they were 5 days old!

Think she was just glad not to be sitting on eggs anymore!
