Upert - are you having a little crisis? Answering your own posts and talking to yourself  :tongue2:

Chooks tend to be quite good at not eating plants that will harm them (in fact most animals are) but it is always advisable to remove anything that is a poison if you can just in case as some can be truly daft (I had a cat that ate lillies - she is still here thankfully, but goes to show how sometimes stupidity prevails in animals!).

i should've read the full wikipedia entry before asking that question here. i'm just moving them to a new site where there's lesser celandine in full riot. i'll have to clobber it.

though yes, i'm in near permanent crisis.

well, goodness only knows how my chooks are still alive....clover, buttercups, hydrangea, lilly of the valley, buttercups, all under a great big conker tree! They even ate my whole rhubarb plant...leaves, then stalks, and even the crown!  :nowink:

Pets:if you don't love them like family, don't have them

I'm glad someone else has chickens like mine! There is precious little left in my garden and they've eaten all sorts that I would've thought unpalatable or even poisonous.
But they're all healthy.....not even a bout of the runs!
I think there can be long-term effects on the liver though......

xx
which is the lesser of two evils?
