Hello, me again!  Had my lovely little ducks for just over a week now, and their husband Frank has been busy um being a 'boy' if you know what i mean! Anyway, being a novice duck owner I'm not sure what a duck egg should look like? I know it sounds a bit lame, but my chucks love going in the duck house to have a nose round, and for the last couple of days i've found an egg in there.  But to me, it looks like a chucky egg, and the duck eggs i've brought in the past have always been white.  I'm assuming that, like chucks, different breeds lay different coloured eggs. I've got miniature silver appleyards, that are about 20 weeks old.

Hi mine have just started to lay and the eggs are about the same size as a chicken egg ,but white with a waxy feel to them

Thanks poppies, I thought that might be the case, looks like one of my chucks is trying to fool me

One of mine did this to me too Flangey  I got all excited thinking my ducks were laying and it turned out that Eve had been laying larger than normal eggs in the duck house (she lays white eggs). I only realised when I caught her in the act and I stopped her going in there and she repaid me for this by going broody
