For tomato plants I was always told 58 degrees (14C) is the magic number. Sustained periods below this are no good - they are cut back and killed and even two months hence a few cold nights below this for a long time and they get that blue look and never grow so well when they have had a stop - so we are talking about May with protection but no heat.

Be patient - unfortunately us wanting it to happen does not make it so. Where are my snow-shoes?

So poly kept heated at a constant temp would do the trick?

Got mine in very late april last year and got away with it.
Would not think of trying to heat the tunnel for the sake
of a few weeks. The cost of heating will be £££££££££
