I wonder what you think, will these two lay soon? They have been nipping into the nest box and staring at my Legbar Tikka when she is laying, she has been most annoyed by this and has come out grumbling!

My third hen has shown no interest or signs of laying yet and she is 9+months old. Are Pekins slow to start laying?

they are stunners! your wyandotte looks ready to lay her comb is so red, i dont know about the others. ive got a couple of girls who are well past their lay by dates - one is just about a year old now - although i had an unidentified first egg today which may have been hers

Dotty's comb has been glowing red for several months, I am hopefully that her trips into the nestbox could be an indication, she is about to lay. Thank you for the comments too.

Top one, the laced lady .. definately about to pop an eggie out i reckon .. Look at that beautiful red comb. Have her legs changed colour . . ?  I think the other girls may take a wee while longer .. but I'm no expert.  Do let us know who and when !
