Mildew on Lettuce
« on: February 06, 2010, 05:59 »
I briefly mentioned it in the thread below (Growing Lettuce) but does anyone know how to control mildew on lettuce? Mine got wiped out last year. I am trying to find mildew resistant varieties this year but some that I want to grow aren’t mildew resistant.

Thanks

Don't think you can stop it, if it's wet and warm you get it :( if it's wet and cold you get it  >:(

I'm still looking for a crispy, winter greenhouse lettuce that's mildew resist............no luck so far, so I know how you feel.

Thanks mumofstig
These are the types I have come up with so far that are Mildew resistant: -

Voncrisp, Avondefiance, Beatrice, Court, Debby, Lakeland, Musette, Plenty, Saladin

Not sure if any or winter varieties or not.
