Sweetcorn and Rotation
« on: January 28, 2010, 16:09 »
Im following  the 4 yr rotation plan and planning my lotty out for this yr. Now my question i was hoping for some advice on is;

Ive got a perfect 3m square next to my shed that i used for sweetcorn last yr. As well as a perfect spot it also acts as a 'wall' as next to the houses. So really i would like to grow my sweetcorn same spot again. I was kinda hoping seems it has been manured and i will put alot of my compost on would i get away not rotating?

Any body used same spot on there sweetcorn? mine was fantastic last yr so dont want to mess it up.

Cheers MW.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I would; not aware that sweetcorn suffers from any diseases which could build up in the soil so as long as they have plenty of food I think they should be fine.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Sweetcorn is a heavy feeder greedy sort, so you will need to add plenty to the soil if it is staying in the same spot. ;)

I only had 1 per plant..the lower ones didn't swell because it was so dry here in Kent.
Maybe 2 from some of them this year. Fingers crossed  :)
