I'd go for the nearest one too, having moved four miles from mine  :(  I can't now just nip round of an evening to pick something I've forgotten, or just to do a bit.  In fact it's making me miserable although it is only four miles

My plot is 500 feet away  8) but the old was about 3 miles and if I wanted to spend an hour on it, it took two hours where as now that hour is a full hour, go local its well worth the wait. Think of the fitness you will get with your wheel barrow loaded up.

It's got to be the local one - everyone is right - you would be amazed at how much you want to just pop down there, even if it is for an evening stroll and nowt else (hah hah hah, as if! When I have ever gone down there and not done something??)
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

thinking laterally but perhaps not logically -- can you take both ?? Lick the local one into shape for yourself but share the far one which is biggest one with someone you can trust?? that way getting to the farplot is a weekend task and the nearest one you can visit daily.

this is starting to sound like one of them puzzles: "If it takes one man x mins to drive y miles to tend x plot, where x plot = z plot x 30%, how long would it take a rabbit to chew through his cables?"

Definitely.  But thank you everybody for your comments and votes.  The local one appears to be the clear winner despite the kissing gates.

The rumour mill tells me a letter is due out before the end of the month about the local one, looking to confirm interest.  The further site is only half allocated I'm told so I think I will hold fire and see how the local site pans out.  If it all falls through (again) I'll go for the further site just to get some land   and stay on the waiting list for the local site for as and when.

Interesting.

3 People have said to take the local plot.

Why, therefore is the vote 2:1?????

I didt vote DD so its not mine
