Hello

we have been keeping chickens now for some years. Recently however we have noticed that one or two of our eggs have red spots in the yolks. We are not sure what this means or how much of a problem it is. We  wondered if any of you more experienced poultry keepers could shed some light on this.

We do not have any cockerels and there are no cockerels in the vicinity. One of our hens tends to be a bit "hen pecked" and we isolate her as much as possible.

        Relatively new to keeping chooks myself, but if you are talking a single red spot I have seen those in eggs I have bought in the past.

Hi these are meat spots, they are just bits of tissue completely harmless, more comman among young or older birds sometimes a shock can cause it.

Just off to re fill the water dispenser with liquid water!!!!!!!
