Moss, to compost or not to compost........?

HI all can anyone tell me , is it ok to compost moss as i will be raking the lawns next year and if last years effort is anthing to go by I shall have about 4 sacks full.I read in a gardeners world not to compost it ?? help!! :unsure:

Not something I would do as it really doesn't rot down. In fact it's apt to grow again when you move the compost.

Right bin it is then, but keep some for my baskets I dont want to grow any more than i'v got.

Mosses and lichens can survive in the most extreme conditions so I'm not sure that most composting would kill it. How about drying it and using it as fuel...if you have that much

Christine locked herself out by changing her email address so has had to start again with a new account. She wants composting the daft woman (and to go by the way churchyards grow, would be very good in the compost heap).

Which is more than moss would be it seems from the general concensus here.  :happy:
