Not worth the risk of blight which is why I only grow shop bought baking spuds (grown specifically for very large potatoes for the village show) in a different location to a couple of sacks of seed potaoes grown on the plot and I would not be happy about someone planting shop bought spuds in an adjacent plot.

Does that mean that you only grow earlies and 2nd earlies?   Any potato with foliage on in August risks Late Potato Blight.  Some varieties moreso than others.

anyone heard of this practice before? An old gent on our allotement swears blind that wrapping potatoes in newspaper before planting produces more undamaged potatoes than not doing this. Do you think that it could be the ink in the paper. I've not tried it, but wonder if anyone else has heard of this.?
