Puzzled
« on: November 04, 2009, 15:46 »
Hi, I have 5 ex bats and before the summer they all stopped laying. They are very healthy and have not had a moult and i have had them for a year so i thought that they had come to the end of laying and were going to have a happy retirement. I bought 3 hybrids for the eggs and they are laying well and are all happy together. For the last week my ex bats have started to lay again that was a nice surprise as i have had to buy eggs all summer. But i am wondering why they have started again especially this time of year and if anyone has had this happen to them. :) ::)

thats chickens for you...........
we have 2 wyandottes, both the same age, one has moulted fully, no eggs for weeks, one has carried on laying with no moult ????

chucks will lay when they are happy and stress free, which is just how yours must be now, enjoy it while it lasts, but dont try to work out why...lol
