Hi Chili... I have a hanging feeder for my girls' pellets.   I used to have a floor standing feeder but one of my girlies insisted on tipping everything on the floor with her foot... she does this to her water too!!!  I scatter corn in the early evening, just a handfull each, but I like to contain the pellets, if they get too damp on the ground they mash into the dirt and I feel some is wasted.

I scatter them on the ground and mostly let the rain disolve them into the soil.  I use them on the lawn too.

Hi Chili,
I am not sure that this is the best time of year to be using fertiliser, a lot of it will have washed out by the time it is needed in the spring.
As long as you can keep them dry the chicken pellets should be okay untill spring, when you can make best use of them. Just scatter them on your beds and rake them in a couple of weeks before sowing or planting.
Sets a low standard and fails to achieve it.
