Hiya!
I need some advice on garlic rust.
We have lots of onions, garlic and shallots growing on our plot mixed in two different raised beds. The problem is that one lot of the garlic (Provence Wight) is totally covered in rust!! The onions and shallots next to it dont have any signs yet and Ive chopped away the rusty leaves that were touching the others but Im worried it will spread (does it spread??). The garlic leaves appear a bit yellow, but Im not sure if thats just the rust discolouring them. The leaves are not falling over yet, but do you think its ok to harvest it now to get it out of the ground and away from the other veggies?

Let your garlic continue to mature.
The rust will have no adverse effect on the bulbs, allegedly.

Rust on garlic will not spread to onions or leeks as they all have their own specific rust.

I had rust on my garlic last year and it didn't spread to the other alliums or affect the garlic crop.  No sign of it this year, touch wood.
