green mesh tunnels
« on: October 24, 2009, 14:19 »
Anyone got one? I am thinking about a 12' X 25' green mesh tunnel as opposed to a clear plastic one. The longer gaurantee/expected life and the fact that watering might not be so critical both appeal. I was thinking of growing in the ground, maybe some tomatoes, veg, possibly a couple of fruit bushes. Would the reduced light intensity be a problem - i realise that i might have a slight problem with pollination of fruit but i guess i could always capture a few bees  ;) . Does blight penetrate the mesh - they are supposed to be very effective at stopping the wind.
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Nethouses are all right for non flowering veg such as brassicas or the onion family. Flowering veg, peas beans and the like need light, and, obviously, pollinating insects. :D
