DOES ANYONE KNOW IF A SWEET POTATO PLANT WOULD GROW ON A ROTTED MUCK HEAP ? I ALREADY GROW MY BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND MARROW UP THERE IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD LOVE IT UP  THERE?       ps sorry did'nt mean to shout

Probably it would, as they like rich soil. There is another tread about growong swwet potatoes on GRow Your Own which has quite a lot of information in it ( I learned a lot from it  ) that might also help.
