Christmas Present Rotavator advice needed
« on: October 06, 2009, 13:37 »
Hi - I would like to get my husband a petrol rotavator for his allotment for Christmas.  Can anyone recommend a good make that is not too expensive, plus where is the best place to get one from.  We live in Dorset by the way. Can afford max of £400. thanks in advance alison

I don't suppose you'd consider divorcing your hubby and marrying a handsome chap like myself? ... I could do with a new rotavator :D

I don't mind moving to dorset ... and I can cook ;)

Will stick with present hubby thanks, better the devil you know as they say!  His allotment is literally just up the road, but yes it would need to be either pushed there or put into his estate car.  We also have a biggish garden at home which it would be used for as well.

I agree with bigbadfrankie - the best Honda you can buy.  They cost a bit more but I have always found them robust and easy to start - what more could you want.  Do look on google etc. for a good price as well as local dealers.  Show local dealers your internet prices and you might get them to move near to it. It is usually best to buy local if competitive in case you need some after sales service.  Second hand ones can be good but probably not for a Christmas present!  If you can afford one with a reverse gear it will make the work a whole lot easier for your OH. (Hope he's got your present lined up too!)

I would pop in to a local hire shop and see if they have any that they are finished with and are selling. They usualy get the best and keep them well maintained

   Worth  a try   Alby
