Vine Weevil attacking my peas

I have a raised bed of Kelvendon Wonder doing wonderfully well about 3-4 weeks after sliding them in off the gutter :D
Today I found one of the plants had serrated-edged leaves and was told this was caused by the dreaded VINE WEEVIL.
I was shown a book which said I must spray with "Fenitrothion".

Does anyone know about this weevil and this stuff? I would like to know what it is chemically before I pay a lot for it - even if I could find it.

Perhaps   yes I will googal it :D
Former biochemist, now experimenting and having fun. :-)

I googled it ... DARN that sounds nasty !!!   Hopefully you will decide the loss of one pea doesn't warrant the sledgehammer approach.

My broad beans have a few weevils.  They are pea and bean weevils rather than vine weevils and I suspect yours are too.  As my broadbeans were planted last autmn they are nearly ready to pick so I don't think I will do anything about it

:? I could be well wrong though

Forgot to mention I have used defenders products before and they are very good, just like having your own personal SAS squad in a test tube.
