leeks ...bugs/lava

my leeks were looking great ,planted out in july,,,but have noticed some kind of lava are in  it,its runied the green leaves,but untouched so far the white part...they are nested just above ground level....
Self-sufficient in rasberries and onions....

might be the lava are white/yellowish colour

yes it was leek moth ,,the * hdve well attacked them ,some cant be saved,very sad,as my fellow plot holder gave me some leeks she got in a french market,notice hers have gone too

There are strict rules on importing plants and seeds. I think you are limited to five plants or packets of seeds. Some plants such as potatoes and citrus need a heath certificate to allow any in.

This keeps on happening and then we whinge about crops being decimated by new pests and diseases from abroad.. Your pal has done you, and maybe others around Southampton, a great diservice.

i doubt very much her leeks were the cause she only brought one tray of tiny leek seedings,were about 30 plants,,

i only had four tiny seedling from her and they moth havent really attatcked them ones,they enjoyed the 30 i put in which were planted four weeks later
