disappearing carrots
« on: May 04, 2007, 11:47 »
Hi,

Anyone know what happened to my carrots?

I planted them a few weeks ago and were coming up fine as seedlings, I watered them every other day, then they just disappeared, there was no mould, no chewed stalks, no wilted bodies nothing- it was like they went into the fourth dimension!  Everything else is growing fine- turnips, beets etc.  Help anyone?????

Thanks

Same happened to my Sage. Marjoram was untouched, parsley decimated, but came back. Sage vanished. Wabbits is best bet.

I suppose its possible but I must say I find it quite hard to believe that on an allotment covered in cabbage, lettuce, peas etc. they would eat a few tiny carrot seedlings and leave the rest!

Wabbits got one of my rows, under netting, and left two other rows.

Very fussy wabbits!

They must have thought that they were the best ones as you were protecting them with netting Ian
