i've just bought a huge run for my guinea pigs 6ftby6ft for 3 of them. my 3 hens have the run of my garden, but on monday i am hopefully getting 2 miniature silkies and thought they would be better in some sort of enclosure, just wondered if anyone had ever kept hens and guinea pigs in the same run before.....cant imagine my guinea pigs being nasty and there's plenty of tunnels for them to hide in and a ramp going upto their hutch. was thinking more of the silkies pecking at them..

Apart from my 7 chooks, a cat and a dog, I also have 9 rescued guinea pigs.  I dont think it would be a good idea to keep g pigs and hens together.  The g pigs would end up getting hurt.  Better to keep the piggies in their own run, although I dont see any harm in letting the hens free range around them.

Guinea pigs are my passion, i breed and show them, i dont put my guinea pigs out even in a run separated from the hens in the garden let alone put them all together, guinea pigs arnt brave creatures and shock can take over them quickly, ive seen my girls peck a blue tit to death, im sure they would give guinea pigs a crafty peck aswell, better to keep them separated.   Nickyx
