TOMATOES
« on: September 17, 2009, 22:26 »
I have just picked the last of my Garden Pearl tomatoes and found that some of them have what looks like black calluses on the skin.  It does not look as though any creepy crawley has got into the fruit itself.

But my question is can I still use these fruits to make passata if I am going to sieve the skins out rather than waste them?
Happy Gardening.

They are small and there are quite a few and I thought it would save time and energy if I did not need to remove these section of the fruit.

Oh well will need to start chopping.

Probably caused by the weather, or maybe blight taking hold.  If making Passata and using a machine, the skin would be removed anyway.   I wouldn't bother cutting it out to be honest, it is all going to get cooked...
