Been Laid Up
« on: May 03, 2007, 12:30 »
Was off my feet for a while, then holidays. Got up to the plot a week last Sunday and realised I hadn't been up for 5 weeks. Lots of catching up to do. Nothing planted, not even in trays. Beds now dug over & ready. Want to try roughly what I managed last year; tatties, carrots, beetroot, parsnip, white & red cabbage, broccoli, leeks, peas, broad beans, sweetcorn, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes, cucumbers, runner beans, squash, caulies, onion sets. Is there anything on this list that anyone would reckon it's too late to bother with?

ps, Hi to everyone. Haven't posted for a while. New IT policy at work!!

the only thing in my mind may be your onion sets but if you have them chuck them in and see, the growing season may last long enough everything else would be ok me thinks

Hi Mick, welcome home!!!  I've been thinking of some of the old faces I haven't seen around for a while.  We seem to have lost Munty at the moment, only had 1 post from him since Easter, but he has had PC trouble.

Well, talk of the devil, just had a look at the next post, and he's back!!!!

I hope you are well again now?  And did you have a nice holiday????

Yup, had me reaching for my book of McGonagall poetry : http://www.mcgonagall-online.org.uk/poems/pgdisaster.htm

P.S. I've always reckoned McGonagall was dodo.

Of course, WM was actually born in Edinburgh. Hols was really a reconnaisance weekend for a week in Rostock in June. Lovely place on Baltic coast of Germany. Was up at the plot last night and got in my tatties, carrots, 2 varieties of broccoli and my onion sets (here's hoping). Nice to be 'back'.
