am having probs wiyh worm composing the wormery is alway to wet and when  i drain the tea off from tap loads of dead worms come out and the bin is full of fly a cloud of them come out when i open it  doing something not right :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  :oops:  :oops: am on the 3rd batch of worms now  can some one help please

Why do you say too wet?   More bedding will help dry it out but my bet is that it is too acid.  Add shredded paper and agricultural lime.

I only started having success with wormeries when kitchen waste became 10% or less of the contents.   Mostly they get horse manure, cardboard and lime.

I have had a wormery for the past 4 months and it seems to be getting established well. Loads of fat worms!!! The secret seems to be loads of roughage, as long as you put this in along with the odd handfull of lime then it should get along fine. Oh, and dont put anything onion or citrus related in it - gives worms indigestion.

Mine always tends to be on the dry side (I don't think mine peeat all)
but I do add shredded paper, which i think dries it out.
