Strawberry Runners

I tried to 'root' my runners, but nothing has happened, is it too late to try again?

I know it is not the best photo... I will take another one today, but showing you what I did, I just let the runners sit in pots... but nothing has happened.

I'm really no strawberry expert but I wonder whether you actually tried to root the runners?  I was talking to a lotty friend a week or so ago and pointed out some things that I thought were runners but he said they weren't.

Don't know if it's too late to try again, someone else hopefully will  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

you need to get the bit that looks like a mini plant to sit against the compost, then it will put roots down. Saying that, some do seem a bit reluctant so if they haven't started after a week or two I chop em off or use the one further down the runner, if it has grown one.

Alright, thank you.

I plan on spending a day tidying the garden, so I will cut it back and start again.

Did you weigh it down so the plantlet roots stay in the pot.  Just a stone or paper clip will do.  Plenty of water.
