What to grow from a shed ?
« on: September 02, 2009, 16:40 »
Hello all,

Just errected my shed on my plot over part which is no good for growing (loads of rubbish paint tins etc..buried)

What would you recommend growing from hanging baskets that I plan to attach to my shed. Plan to use grow bags for peppers and chilli plants around the shed.

Thanks

Tony

How about herbs? Such as this one from the Eden Project.

Is the roof strong enough to support some pots or troughs?

Remember that you will have to water hanging baskets every/most days.

Probably too late now you've built it but a plastic roof on a shed turns it into a high rise cold frame and you can grow lots inside it.

What ever you try it will need to be able to stand dry spells.... If the shed has any guttering perhaps you could direct some of the rainfall into the basket/s?

You will certainly be busy stopping them drying out.

Strawberries - if you dont have a birdy problem
