changing layer pellets

The guy i got my chickens off also sells the layers pellets that he feeds all his hens on, but i carnt get them off him anymore, ive still got loads left but when they are done im gonna have to go and get another brand cause i carnt find wot he uses anywhere, do you have to do a sort of a change over like you would do with different dog feeds      Nickyx
