[The Norfolk Turkey]

Two questions really:
1. Found some japanese onion sets on Friday and looking forward to getting them in over winter - when should I plant them, will they need protection and will I need to do any prep on the soil (I planted some white lsibon 6 weeks ago and they have been singularly unspectacular!)?

2. This is the only shop Ive found that have onion sets (and not many at that) nor do I know of any local sellers of seed spuds. Ive scoured the sticky on local nurseries, but wondered if anyone could recommend a good one in west yorks or online (other than the usual mainstream ones)?

Yes to soil prep and plant them as soon as you have done that. They do not need protection from the cold but they do not like to sit in waterlogged soil over winter - so a raised bed or under some sort of rain protection  will definitely help.
